Long time no talk ladies and gentlemen!

So as promised, this site is keeping you up to date with Codename:Kingdoms latest and greatest news! Finally we get some big news today from the greatness of Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 (E3). Microsoft announced today a new name for Codename:Kingdoms what will now be called “Ryse“!

The web is a buzz about the new information we got today and do I ever have a lot for all of you!

Lets start of with what is obviously the most exciting tidbit we’ve got a new trailer for the game that can be seen below thanks to PlayScopes Youtube page:

As you can see the game takes place in a war torn Rome, where you play as a soldier using the kinect to wield a sword and shield to fight your epic battles. From the looks of things the graphics are top notch, the controls seem extremely extensive from kicking, to throwing of swords. This the first of the “M” rated titles for Microsofts Kinect will hopefully please the hardcore gamers looking for something new.

For the time being we are still left without a release date, but now that the game has been given a concrete title hopefully information will come more quickly than previously!

It has been one year minus about 9 days since this site started up, and within the next few days there will be a bit of an overhaul. Considering the new game title it only stands to reason we update the site to allow for an easier find for those interested in the game but did not follow it while under it’s code name.

Within the next few days you will now be able to access this site with the URL “www.rysethegameonline.com” as well as “www.codenamekingdom.com” this will hopefully bring more people to the site and forms to talk about the game and the future of what looks like Kinects most promising title!

I will keep you updated as more info comes in! Head to the forums to discuss the news!

Hello Ladies and Gents!

Long time no talk, we haven’t heard very much until recently about Codename:Kingdoms but for those of you waiting for whatever info you can get it’s finally arrived… in bulk!

Sorry I’ve been running a little late on the update as some of this news is a day or two old, but I still believe we are still the first site to give all the news in one place! So without further ado…

A RELEASE DATE!

… Or as close to one as we’re going to be getting for quite a while. Thanks to an interview done by GamesIndustry with Microsoft’s Stephen McGill the chief marketing manager we now know that Codename:Kingdoms will be making it big sometime this next year ( just weeks away now ;) ), no specific release date was mentioned but McGill stated that Kingdoms will be having “a very good future next year”. So it looks like we have something huge to look forward to in the weeks/months to come!

Here is the exact quote from Microsoft:

“Obviously we’re not going to announce any third-party products on their behalf, but one that we’ve announced, that we’re going to be developing with Crytek, is Kingdoms. That’s a brand new IP that has a really good future next year.”

Now onto some more MAJOR news. Thanks to an article on Blorge.com, they have discovered while using the Sijun forums a user named Bizarde made a post commenting on working on Kingdoms nearly two years ago, doing concept art for Crytek. Now currently the pictures have been taking down on that forum, leaving the message that can be seen by following this link.

Now it’s up to you if you want to take this as fact, seeing as there must have been a NDA signed, would this user really post these pictures? However at the same time why would he be asked to take them down if this was not legit? I still have copies of these pictures from other sources, however remember that these are done over two years ago and the game may be taking a much different approach currently. But here they are:

Now according to one of these pictures it was made by someone by the name of Lamash, whom I can’t seem to find any information on. Now adays two years later, Crytek Budapest has taken the helms of Kingdoms with Agnes Staudt as lead music producer and art director. There have been rumors going around of some of his images posted online of being concept art for Kingdoms. However if I may direct you to his website http://agnesstaudt.blogspot.com/ you can see he has many of the leaked images posted on his personal blog. Therefore it stands to reason these are not Kingdom concept pictures, however they do look amazing and you can get an idea of what Kingdoms may take in an art approach.

Here is the artwork that has been floating around claiming to be concept art (As far as I can tell the original source to make start the rumor was: videogamezone.de ):

Donno about you guys but to me all these pictures look AMAZING! Would be interesting to see any of these scenes make their way into the game.

Now sadly for the moment thats all the new info I have for you right now. Just a heads up however this Saturday the 11th 8pm ET/5pm PT Spike TV will be host the Spike Video Game Awards 2010, and plan to unveil a few new games and give out some new information, so keep your fingers crossed and hopefully we will hear something this weekend!

Hopefully I’ll have more to report soon!

-Colossus-

So still no recent news on Codename:Kingdoms to discuss sadly, but make sure to keep checking back all the time, as you never know when we may see an update! ;) Hopefully we’ll hear some more news by the GDC (Game Developers Conference) by August on the 16th-18th, at the latest, but hopefully much earlier!

So while we’re waiting a few website updates for all of you. You’ll notice a new website look, hopefully you all like it if not please comment and let us know how we can make it better. There is also a new area on the side of the website where if you scroll down a little, that you are now able to add your email to and we will email you all the new Codename:Kingdoms updates as they come in!

Lastly don’t forget to sign up on the forums and join in the conversation while we all wait on more information for Codename:Kingdoms! :)

Hello all!

So a small Codename:Kingdoms Update for all of you who have been sitting at their computer for days looking for any spec of information, this just in… here is a quote from Microsoft’s Phil Spencer to OXM UK:

“We found an idea with Kingdoms that we think is unique to what we are as a platform. They’re extremely excited about building this game and we’ve been working on it for a while, prototyping concepts.

“They’re just such a top-tier developer. Graphically, they’re on a par with anybody else in the industry – and I think it’s a great addition to our line-up.”

He also stated it was “unique to what “Xbox is” as a platform”.

So what should we get from this new information? For starters, the game has been worked on “for quite some time”, which means we could be seeing this released much sooner than we thought, or at least we should be getting much more information on the game in the coming days or weeks. There is some speculation that we will be getting a much larger glimpse at the game during the GamesCom next month, so we can only keep our fingers crossed!

The other thing we should grab from this is that the game will definitely be using Crytek’s top tear graphics, which we all figured, as well as we will not be seeing this game on any other system at any point. We have seen games that have been released exclusively for a system and then were released months to a year later for another system, ie. GTA4 for Xbox.

It was also mentioned by a member on The computerandvideogames.com forums that:
“on GT the guy said that it would be a third person game with “elements of first person”.”

However this does not seem to be verifiable, as if the member was referring to a comment made on gamefocus.ca it was not mentioned directly in the article, however this person may have been discussing an unknown article, and we will be keeping an eye out. So for the moment this falls under the rumor category, however it would be in interesting tidbit, as we have heard the third person game with first person elements before (Stargate Worlds anyone?), however it could also make for an interesting single player RPG as well.

Opinions anyone?

On another note, sorry it took so long but our website forums are now up and running! With the new news update they couldn’t have come at a better time! They can be accessed by either the forum link at the top or side of this page. The look and color scheme are still being worked on as I’m sure you will be able to tell, however this will not effect users posting or communicating through the forums. If anyone comes across any forum problems, please contact admin@codenamekingdom.com, you can now see the newest posts on the forum in the navigation menu on the right hand side of this webpage.

Remember to let people know about us so they can be kept as up to date on Codename:Kingdoms as you ;)

As always, keeping you in the know as soon as it happens!

-Colossus-

Hey all, just a quick update since I know a few of you are checking this page daily, and as we haven’t had any news update on the game yet I thought I would through out an update to all the readers about the website. I just wanted to let you all know that the site forums are almost ready, check back in a day or two and they’ll be up and running, if not sooner.

One other update is our team is trying to get the CodenameKingdom.com word out to let people in the gaming community know our website exists, and they can get the most recent info from us. We are looking for anyone who would like to help us get the word out, so we have created a “banner”/”forum signature” that if you know of a gaming community that would be interested in this website feel free to post the following banner, or add it to the signature of your other forum visits. There will be more choices in look and sizes of the website banners in the coming days. Again we appreciate all the help!

Still looking forward too and making sure to keep everyone updated on any news we receive dealing with Codename:Kingdoms the game!

-Colossus-

Codename:Kingdoms, as you are obviously aware a working title, is a exclusive Xbox360 title brought to us by Microsoft and Crytek, the creators of Crysis, most well known for being the worlds most graphically intensive game. The game is being kept incredibly hush, hush. Other than the trailer showing at E3 2010 there has yet to be any official announcements about the game. As was made obvious by the following video, Codename:Kingdoms is a  game based around what appears to be something along the lines of Gladiators (reminds me of the tv show “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” feel):

Although we have no way to know for sure, as this was a live action/cgi trailer, but from appearances it looks like we may have an RPG or Action/Adventure game on our hands.

This brings me to the next bit of information that although are currently only rumors, there are some interesting finds people have made potentially linking to this game. Back in the beginning of June people started to notice that Crytek began registering trademarks, one of which included “Kingdoms” as well as purchasing domain names such as www.codenamekingdoms.com and www.kingdomsthegame.com for example. It is now important to note those are the only new domains acquired by Crytek in the last while, which is relevant to the next bit of information. The LinkedIn profiles of James Dennett, senior Information Technology manager at Crytek, and Yegor Borndar, an ex-Crytek employee, show that both of them have been working on an online FPS that has not yet been announced. Although from the trailer it does not appear like it would be an FPS, from the genre and what we know about Crytek’s game engine being used for creating MMO’s (Massive Multiplayer Online Games) – Aion anyone? There is a very good possibility that Kingdoms will be a MMO. Although that is just speculation as we could end up with a game closer to God of War for example.

So that’s all the information we have at the moment, we’re looking forward to finding out more and brining you the most up to date news. So what are your predictions of Codename:Kingdoms?
